One of the nicest collections of Korean ceramics which is world famous is possessed by the Honolulu Academy of Arts. While the assortment is famous for celadons since the Goryeo period (918-1392), even in early ceramics it is considered to be strong, especially sacrament vessels as of Gaya Confederacy (42-562), a slackly organized faction of city states in the southern part of the Korean neck of land. Located between the two different kingdoms i.e. powerful baekje(18 BCE – 660CE) and Shilla (57 BCE-676 CE) , the Gaya province preserve its cultural and political freedom for generations, whereas featuring the influences through its neighbors and creating relationships with the Japan in regard of trade. Many instances of early ceramics reflect the influence of the Gaya sacrament vessels which have identified on the Kyushu Island.

The Honolulu academy of arts shows the wide ranging collections of ceramic vessels signifying the creation and improvement of classy ceramics culture in the Gaya confederacy, and to see this complete exhibition can be said as rare opportunity.

The timings of its operation start from 10 am to 4:30 pm from Tuesday to Saturday and on Sundays it starts from 1 pm to 5 pm and on Mondays it is closed.
