Laie Hawaii Temple, located on the Hawaiian island of Oahu at the northeastern shore is a temple of the church of Jesus Christ of LDS or Latter day Saints church. Situated in the town of Laie, it sits about half a mile on a tiny hill from the Pacific Ocean. The Hawaii Temple Visitors’ center plays a very important role in the town of Laie, attracting around 100,000 people every year from all over the world.
Hawaii Temple Visitors’ Center or the Taj Mahal of the Pacific offers a tranquil setting at its peaceful grounds. It was also the first temple that was not built in the continental US. In the year 1919, it was devoted in serving members all through the pacific. The Hawaii Temple Visitors’ Center houses a 10 foot marble reproduction of the “Christus” statue by Thorvaldsen’s. Trams departing from the Polynesian Cultural Center take visitors on a tour to the Hawaiian Campus of the Brigham Young University and the Laie.
All are visitors are allowed to enter the temple grounds, including the Family History Center and it’s Visitors’ center, but only the members of the Church are allowed to enter the temple. |
