The USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park, harbored along the Battleship Row at Pearl Harbor is a tribute to the 3,500 submariners and the 52 American Submarines lost during the World War II.

The Bowfin is among the only 15 United States Submarines that was not destroyed during the World War II. The submarine was docked next to the USS Arizona Memorial Visitor Center at Pearl Harbor in 1980 and since 1st April, 1980, it has been official opened as a museum ship to the general public.

This 10,000 square foot museum houses several submarine artifacts including battle flags, recruiting posters, weapon systems, detailed submarine models and photographs. Visitor can also look into the inner details of the Poseidon C-3 missile, one of the rare war artifacts to be put on public display. The USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park also has on display the Purple Heart that was awarded to the only Bowfin war casualty, Reid Lee.

The visitors can also watch in the 40 seat mini theatre, several submarine associated videos. The USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park remains open throughout the year except on New Year’s, Christmas and Thanksgiving Day. The last tour of the day begins at 4:30 in the evening.
