For Historic Preservation, Hawaii Theatre has won “Honor Award” 2006 from National Trust and is also the winner of 2005 “Outstanding Historic Theatre in America” that was honored by League of Historic American Theatres. Hawaii Theatre was built in the year 1922 as a venue for various shows that includes plays, silent films, vaudeville and musicals. This is an amazing option for the tourists who just want to sit back and relax and those who are fond of arts and music.
The theatre was closed for many years and in the year 1996, Hawaii Theatre re-opened up as the versatile state-of-the art performance venue which offers something for everyone, including the tourists as well as locals. It is listed on both the National and State Registers of Historic Places.
