It was opened in 1979. The courts are separated in tiered clusters, each of which maintains privacy. The tennis is managed by Perter Burwash International, which has provided quality tennis education for beginners to professionals. It has taught more than 3 million students. PBI has, since 1975 also been managing tennis at various clubs, resorts and hotels. There are various activity programs for adults and juniors. Their drop in doubles is an open game which allows players choose their own competition and have fun that too at a nominal fee of $8 for adult and $10 per session. Timings for Adult programs are, 4 pm-6pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. 8am-11 am on Saturdays. Timings for juniors are, 4pm-5pm on Tuesdays, The Kapalua Tennis garden also hosts special tournament every month for guests and residents of the resort. This is of course a doubles event with great prizes offered.
