The exhibition include Hokusai prints which reveals the remarkable output and the later works inspired by series which show the focal place of this mountain as a mark of Japan.
Hokusai is among the most creative Japanese artists of late Edo period. In more than a seven decades career, he has produced about 30,000 works which ranges from the drawings to the paintings to the book illustrations. Today, he is known as a great designer of Ukiyoe woodblock prints. He was among the most initial innovators in the enhancement of the landscape prints which characterized the final great development of Ukiyoe tradition in 19th century.
It is positioned at 900 S. Beretania St. in Thomas Square Historic District. It is at 1111 Victoria Street. Visiting hours: From Tuesday till Saturday from 10 am till 4:30 pm. Sunday from 1 pm till 5 pm. It is closed on Monday. |
