Michael Arcega is a San Francisco based artist who has expertise in sculpture and installations and also has a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts from Stanford University.
The current project which Arcega has undertaken is named Overlooks. This like his previous works is influenced by language and wordplay .The work is open to viewers’ interpretation and point of view as it may have multiple meanings.
He would have three monkey-pod tress and the structures will be based on a tent like architecture wherein each tree will be connected by ropes. Overlooks would present a mind blowing landscape with lines and shapes interconnecting trees where the tent structures show domesticity with fruits ,insects and natural skins which we come across in our day to day lives. The groupings of arboreal structures would be quite a visual spectacle even from the entrance of TCM. This work will be on display in Waikiki Islands in Hawaii from 11th of July, 2009 till 25th of October, 2009. |
