The idea for the gallery was given by the of Thurston Twigg- Smith and then the general manager of the Honolulu Advertiser who accepted the requirement for the space devoted to the exhibitions of the work done by the Hawaiian contemporary artists. For 20 moving to 21 TCM has invited the earlier TCM Biennial Exhibition artists who were invited to nominate around 5 contemporary artists who they think are complete or emerging to be well thought out for the exhibition. The nominees were then called to show the examples of their work done so that it can be juried by the group of three personalities, Melissa Chiu, Lawrence Rinder, and Joseph Havel. These 3v personalities are very famous and hold some designation and qualification in the field of arts. |
