Slack Key is the traditional folk art form here in Hawaii and many of the best musicians from Hawaii and around the world gather here to perform this folk art form. Kahumoku Jr plays a 12 string guitar not very common and often imagines with his musical mind all the people who have influenced his music. George has performed and mesmerised the audiences all over the world including the Queen of England with his soulful music. Kawika is also a renowned slack key guitarist who derived his inspiration from father and is a member of the band, Kaukahi which received the three awards at the prestigious Na Hoku Hanohano Awards in 2007. Kawika’s song Life in these Islands received the best song of the year award in the same ceremony. These true ambassadors will promote their traditional music style of playing slack key guitar at the Napai Kai Beach Resort from 7:30 pm on 22nd July, 2009. An admission fee of $45 per person will be charged.
