The owners of this store are Sidney and Minnie Kosasa. Sidney has a degree in Pharmacy and in 1942; they opened a chain of drug stores shortly in the Hawaiian Islands. With a vision that, the convenience stores would be a hit in Hawaii, The Kosasas opened their first ABC outlet in 1964.

This has around 78 outlets across the Pacific coastline and 56 of them are in Hawaii itself. The other stores are at Las Vegas, Nevada, Saipan and Guam.

ABC Stores of Hawaii is not just like any other convenience store in the state. It offers a great service with a group of 900 associates and friendly store people. It has a large collection of different items from which one can choose accordingly. They have in their store everything from groceries, drugs, spirits, finest wines of the state and local apparels along with cosmetics which include lotions, Sun care, music, books, and bath and body products among others. Almost all the stores are open round the year with a standard timing of 6:30 am to 1 am. Its yearly income is more than $ 150 million in profits.
