On September 26 in the year 2009, the 4th annual surfing contest will be held. It is actually a superb contest to join and take part. Kailua 4th of July parade, festival and fireworks is celebrated on the Independence Day. The parades start sharp at 10:00am originating from Kainalu Elementary School to Kailua District Park via Kainalu. The parades feature clowns, veterans from the armed forces, marching bands and lots of other fun.

The exhibition of the art works made by the students of grade k-6 is held through out the sates by the juried. The exhibition was recognized by the Hawaii state foundation on arts and culture, to identify and show the work of students. Students were called to present the effort on the theme.

The Cambodian Ikats Exhibit presented by the Honolulu Academy of Arts at 900 S Beretania St,Honolulu, HI 96814 would remain open for public from Thursday, 30th April 2009 till Sunday, 26th July 2009. Honolulu Academy of Arts charges $10 for the general public and $5 for students, military or senior citizens to be a part of the Cambodian Ikats Exhibit. It allows free entry to children below 12 years of age.

The world championships of the Jan Ken will be organized at the Hawaiian convention center. Team contests will be done on Saturday, 15 august. However individual competitions will be done on august 16, Sunday. Those who are either 18 years of age or going to be can only be the part of these championships.
